Using an Automated Document

FastDraft offers a simple method for using an automated document. It also offers a free-form approach that lets you use a building block approach to creating a document using any combination of Clauses contained in any of your Volumes.

The simplest method for creating a new document requires that you have created a SmartModel earlier. To use the SmartModel, first choose a Library.

Click the Create tab embim1.gif and pick SmartModel as the source.

Double-click the SmartModel you want, then click the Next button. embim2.gif

In the Variable Completion window, fill in fields with the applicable information.

In this example, FastDraft calculates the Total of monthly payments for you. The last steps include giving the automatically assembled document a name and, optionally, entering Profile information.

Notice that FastDraft lets you receive a recapitulation that lists the names of variables and the information you entered for each of them.

The end result is a word processing document containing all the Clauses called for by the SmartModel and any logic you have built into it. (See Step Four: Create Links for more information about logic.)
