HotDocs acts as if it is built right into your word processor, WordPerfect, MS Word or Ami Pro. That makes sense since your word processor is where you normally go to create documents. HotDocs can make the process far faster than using the traditional approach of opening an existing legal document, clicking Save As, and then hacking and inserting until you have a new version for a new client or situation.
You need to do the hard work of document assembly before you get the pay-off. With HotDocs you click on the "H" button in your word processor, click Create, and soon you are doctoring up a copy of one of your word processing documents. HotDocs streamlines the process through the use of sensible pop-up windows that prompt you for all the information needed to automate your document, creating what HotDocs calls a template.
Once you have automated at HotDocs template, creating a new document for a new client is as easy as answering questions. Open a template in the HotDocs library and right away a series of windows begins to pop up, prompting you for names, choices, whatever you need to customize your document for the new client.
